Wakendaw Lakes Mount Pleasant SC

Wakendaw Lakes was developed in the early 1970’s, and there were homes still being constructed as late as 1995. The homes were built by custom home builders, as was common back in the 70’s. Some homes were built in a very traditional, single-story-brick-ranch style. Some are two story homes with raised foundations built in a Southern style with large front porches. Many are traditional two story brick or wooden siding homes. Home sizes range from 1,800 square feet to about 3,500 square feet. Prices start in the $225K for interior homes and go up to $650K+/- for waterfront lots. The floor plans include 3 to 4 bedroom homes. Lot sizes are fairly large for Mount Pleasant and the farther back in the neighborhood you go, the more likely you are to find a home with beautiful marsh views or a home with a dock and a floater in shallow water. There are 3 subsections of the community, some on the lake, and some homes on marsh front. There is a very well managed HOA, that does a great job of helping new owners understand the CCRs, pay dues, and more. The neighborhood has a $100 yr HOA due, with other subsections having an additional due of $100 or $200 yr for upkeep of their section’s amenities.
